We LOVE staying here! It is quaint and charming, not the most glamorous stay since the building is very old and (I believe) the oldest building in Cottonwood! But the rooms are all that you need and nestled right in the center of Old Town. You cannot beat the location, prices, or great service from the owner Karen. We just checked out of our long weekend stay and at the last minute decided to stay for an extra night. We messaged Karen asking if she had any space available for our last minute decision and not only did she, but she put us in the same room—such a smooth and easy process. Loved our stay, this is the only place we ever stay in Cottonwood!

To start off, I want to be up front, this is not the place we wanted to stay. My wife and I made a late decision to head up north for our anniversary, and this was the only place that had availability on main Street. THANK GOD! We stayed in the John Wayne suite that was right next to the balcony. And I honestly believe that the people that passed this over for somewhere else, absolutely missed out! Now you have to keep in mind, this place is historic, the bathroom is tiny, the wood floors are creaky. However, I have stayed in places similar that were not as clean, quaint, and centrally located. It is very secure, your privacy is guaranteed, decorated perfectly to highlight the history, but also provided modern comforts. Second floor patrons can sit on the (shared) balcony and people watch from above, while enjoying a glass of wine. You are treated to a beautiful view which I am imagine would change as the seasons do. And this is where I get to talk about the innkeeper, Karen, and her trusty Great Dane Malak! Her communication is fantastic, but if you want privacy, you will get that. I would suggest not wanting that much privacy because you need to talk to her about the building, the history, and what she did to restore it to the prohibition times when it was in its glory! Karen is a beautiful soul! And Malak is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met, but also lets you know it's his world, and your living in it. Cottonwood Hotel also offers private parking (reasonable additional charge) which is absolutely essential on weekends. We are not just planning another trip to stay there on our way through, we are specifically planning a trip to stay there again.

My daughter and I stayed here for a weekend in October. We did wine tasting and went on the Verde Canyon Railroad. Each time we came back to the room we commented on how nice it was. We stayed in the 1925 room. 2 queen beds, ceiling fans over each and there was even a floor fan provided! We really enjoyed out stay. The room was clean and the host would send periodic text messages to let us know the room was ready and ask how we were enjoying our stay. Absolute great place right in the heart of Cottonwood.

I’m a little late on posting my review but better late than never! First let me just say this place is just amazing!! My husband and I have been to cottonwood numerous times and walked by the cottonwood hotel without even realizing it. It truly is a hidden gem. We stayed in the galaxy room which faces Main Street and enjoyed the balcony overlooking everything. We like to unwind at kactus Kate’s so this was perfect as it’s right across the street. The suite was absolutely adorable with a living room area kitchen area and bedroom. The reviews before mentioned the bathroom being small but I didn’t think it was to bad and the shower had great water pressure which was amazing since that’s a rare thing anymore. I would highly recommend staying here as it’s not just like every other hotel. It has character and charm and we will definitely be staying her again. The fun part is each room is decorated in its own theme so you can pick where you want to stay. I think next time we will try the John Wayne room or maybe the wine room heck maybe we will try both eventually lol. If you decide to stay here I have no doubt you will enjoy your decision very much. Thank you for an amazing stay! :)

We have stayed at the Cottonwood Hotel a few times. The host is always very responsive and the check in is a breeze. Although the hotel is old (John Wayne actually stayed here) it is clean and very charming. We stayed in the John Wayne suite this trip and it was spacious and had everything we need. The hotel is a perfect location to explore old town Cottonwood and all the shops and wine tasting rooms that line the street. We also took a day trip to Jerome to do some shopping and dining as well, it is only about a 20 min drive from the hotel. I would recommend the Cottonwood Hotel if you plan on visiting, we will be returning soon.

This is a delightful hotel right on the main drag in Cottonwood. We stayed with our dogs and it was wonderful. The kitchenette was a great bonus! Bed was very comfortable, shower excellent, and it was super clean. Karen is an excellent host! We are retuning for another visit in May.

We had our wedding on 8/24/2024 and so happy we were at the Cottonwood. We felt like absolute royalty. Matty was an absolute gem and made us feel so special from the moment we checked in until we left. She even sent a bottle of champagne up to the room after the wedding!!! Molly Payne and Sarah Miller (Wymer) bent over backwards to make our wedding feel like a fairytale. The food was divine and the service was unmatched. I truly can’t believe how incredible everything was. The rooms were fantastic and the entire hotel is gorgeous. Thank you to everyone who made our stay and wedding incredible!

We stayed in unit 8 for the weekend and it was a great option for what we needed! Right in the heart of downtown, was walkable to all the shops/restaurants/tasting rooms. Quick drive to Jerome and Sedona. Communication with the owner was timely and check in/out process was super easy. Loved the shared balcony feature! Our unit didn't have any "living room" space, but we didn't need it for our weekend. I know other units have different layouts so I'd read the descriptions before booking to find one that meets your specific needs.
